HomeNet International 2nd Annual Congress

During the Homenet International 2nd Congress, 127 home-based worker leaders from 71 of HNI’s 75 affiliate organisations met in person for the first time to discuss their priority areas of work, they showcased their products in a vibrant HBWs Bazaar and elected their new governing body – the new Executive Committee and Office Bearers. Our first Resolution in support and solidarity of IDWF’s General Secretary, Elizabeth Tang, and our first Declaration were both endorsed by HNI delegates. These milestones represent a significant step forward for HNI and the home-based workers movement, and are a testament of what we can achieve when we work together.

We also welcomed sister organisations and major allies from organisations such as Women in Informal Employment: Globalizing and Organizing and Organizing (WIEGO), IDWF, IAWP, StreetNet International, Ford Foundation, amongst many others, who provided important messages of solidarity. Thank you again for the support.

The four Congress days were action-packed with important content and lively activities, and brimming over with discussions and exchanges.

During the meeting we endorsed the following declaration loom.ly/LxVmnLM
